The Martian by Andy Weir is an engaging science fiction novel that tells the gripping story of Mark Watney, an astronaut stranded on Mars after a failed mission. Left behind by his crew, Mark must use his ingenuity, resourcefulness, and engineering skills to survive the harsh Martian environment with limited supplies.
This science in this leans heavily. Clearly showcasing the 'science' in science-fiction.

This was absolutely cute and campy as was expected. However That's a feature not a bug. Its blurb says low angst and it is, but that feeling of a relationship quickly developing only to see a clock ticking on it really resonated.
The main characters starts of stereotypical but as the story progresses, we do see the layers underneath that helps break the mold. I can't help but see a bit of myself in both.

"I Love You. I fucking love you!"
I'm a sucker for a big declarative 'I Love You' scene, and this book certainly delivered. I was squealing like a little school girl.

Following hot off the heels of the 1st book; Possession, we get the 2nd brother; Vitali and his bodyguard Quinn's story.
Quinn is injured (happens in the 1st of the series) and as he recovers, Vitali becomes more aware of the feelings he has for him. As we expe …Read More

"The answer to your specific salvation is always within your reach. You’ll know it by the way it sparkles." - Oh Wow Disco Witches of Fire Island by Blair Fell is unapologetically gay and I am here for it. 1989, we are taken to the gay haven that is Fire Island. Here we view Joe and his friend Ronnie experience probably the most transformative summer of their lives.

At its core. Joe and Ronnie was supposed to go to Fire Islan …Read More
