Confession

Confession
Rina Saint

"I Love You. I fucking love you!"
I'm a sucker for a big declarative 'I Love You' scene, and this book certainly delivered. I was squealing like a little school girl.

Following hot off the heels of the 1st book; Possession, we get the 2nd brother; Vitali and his bodyguard Quinn's story.
Quinn is injured (happens in the 1st of the series) and as he recovers, Vitali becomes more aware of the feelings he has for him. As we experience their relationship, we see them go from employee/boss to those with benefits to finally acceptance of relationship. That is essentially the story of their relationship; acceptance. Vitali's acceptance that he loves Quinn (and he can't do everything himself) and Quinn learning to accept he is worthy of being loved.
Preamble aside, this is not some flowery I love you story. This book is a bit dark, though not as dark as its predecessor. There is some stabbing, gore and some hot rough and choking smut peppered in. (Reader be warned and check trigger warnings)

Throughout the story we get alternating characters POVs, which really allows us to see the emotions and reasons for actions they undergo as well as they growth.
While this is classed as crime, mafia, dark etc., this is first and foremost a 'romance' with the crime and mafia aspects there to just push the romance along. So much so in fact, that by the end, it felt a bit too open ended in regards to the antagonists of the story.

In essence this is short, sweet and spicy read. My only gripe is that some key parts felt a bit rushed due to how short the story is. Rina Saint, if you do come across this, please give us bit longer pieces. I love your writing style.
I didn't think I'd like this story as much as the 1st, but was I ever wrong. I fucking loved it more! 5 stars.
