The Elephant in the Brain: Hidden Motives in Everyday Life

The Elephant in the Brain: Hidden Motives in Everyday Life
Robin Hanson

Some parts of this book is scary and upsetting in way only an economics book can be.

Even though it's an easy read, as in, it's written really well and easily digested, I've had a very hard time finishing it. I started the book thrice, and twice I flinched and stopped midway. Third time really turned out to be the charm, but it took me two month to finish. But I'd absolutely recommend it to anyone.

Be prepared for the hard conversation with this book. It really highlights some of the ugly truths in human's behavior in a way I don't like to acknowledge, but can't argue with.
