Siddhartha

Siddhartha

A poetic and philosophical novel that follows a young man’s spiritual journey toward enlightenment. While not a retelling of the Buddha’s life, Hesse explores similar themes—self-discovery, experience, and inner peace—through the fictional Siddhartha.

The writing is rich and lyrical, and though slow at times, it rewards patient readers with deep insights. It’s a story that emphasizes learning through living, not just study, m …Read More

Echo of the Evercry

I definitely enjoyed this story until the last page! Echo of the Evercry is set in an epic world where the taint of evercrys looms, a world founded by matriarchy (women in knighthood), starred by a pair of sapphic heroines and a ruler-to-be ally, combating cursed sorcerers altogether. If you happen to be a woman-loving-woman, feminist, a neurodivergent who yearns for a sense of belonging, or simply someone who values women-d …Read More

A beautifully written and emotionally stirring short story, Moonlight captures Maupassant’s talent for distilling the essence of love and longing. Despite a few narrative choices that feel unnecessary—such as the unresolved concern for Madame Letore’s sister—the story’s simplicity and elegance make it a compelling read. It leaves you either marveling at the quiet beauty of life or feeling a sharp frustration toward its chara …Read More

This book was a short read but extremely enjoyable. Kind of made me realize how important it is to be a part of a good community and have relationships that are meaningful and help you evolve in better ways. The author introduces us in the first half to a woman who is dumped by her boyfriend and hence falls into depression, while the second half focuses on her uncle who's bookshop she decides to work at. It was an okay read …Read More

A whole new view of the world, that is often unheard of but still as plausible and valid as the other. Open-ended questions spring up to motivate us toward solving the big societal and stereotypical problems and gain a broader perspective towards global calamities.

The story of Fermat's problem is enthralling in itself, and it is quite well narrated by Simon though serious mathematics lovers will feel a tad disappointed for the absence of more rigor. Nonetheless, it is a beautiful journey which Simon navigates the reader through and anyone aching for a glimpse of the sharpest of minds in the world, their talks, their eccentrics and their infallible love for cold logical proof will love …Read More

Wish it was longer and there was more introspection, but it was a lot of fun (and genuinely very creepy at times.... The hair scene was like something straight out of a horror story). I'll definitely be checking out the rest of the series.

I'm just too dumb to understand Shakespeare style romance. I'd rather shit on my hands and clap than ever believe people falling in loving at first sight! Wake up! It's lust at first sight! And how did I go living so many years without ever knowing that they die?!?! But I'm down bad for the articulate and poetic writing though

This is a book about the details of how human has entered the age of data. The algorithms that run on data by finding patterns are being used everywhere and have been in use for more than 30 years which is well before the words 'Data' and 'Algorithm' became mainstream. In this book, the author gives brief history along with prospects of the use of data science in several departments. How big companies utilize them for their …Read More

Story revolves around how several strangers bonded in a weird hostage situation (Stockholm syndrome if you can say so?). Starts really chaotic but a very intriguing drama shown from different perspectives. Feels like a sitcom at times with bad puns and metaphors (could be 'lost in translation' situation). Emotions and thoughts of the character, narrator and reader can range from Dark to Pretty optimistic and a very romantic …Read More

I understand that the book revolving around the bug is supposed to be a metaphor but how do you make a reader go from being sympathetic to pulling out their hair in frustration! I did not like how things just happened without any explanation?! I don't read books to improve myself but rather to entertain my boring mind and this indeed scratched an itch but that's it?! I was promised or more like fooled into believing this wou …Read More

Could t finish the book!! The start was pretty good! It was engaging and intriguing but the characters were annoying especially the fl was irritating and the whole lying to best friend was so unnecessary. But I did enjoy it until I got the ick and dropped the book midway.
