Oh my, this was such a fun read. I stumbled on some fanart for this book on Pinterest and picked it up on a whim, totally unaware that there were already two books out and another on the way in 2026. Zero regrets.
The playfulness of this story hooked me immediately. The concept of being the assistant to the Villain? Absolutely yes. After reading so many romantasies where the FMC and MMC fall into the same two power dynamics, …Read More

Definitely better than the first one. But I have to admit Juliette annoyed me SO MUCH in this book. Her whole pity-party vibe was unbearable, and honestly, I just can’t stand her romance with Adam because I simply do not like that man. So reading her being a victim 40% of the time, then 40% making out with Adam or crying over him, and only in the remaining 20% something actually good happening… yeah, it was rough. But still …Read More

I just finished reading The Friend Zone by Abby Jimenez. Of all her books I’ve read so far, Just for the Summer and Yours Truly are still my top favorites. This one was a cute read, and I absolutely loved the friends-with-benefits trope. That said, Kristen could be a little annoying at times—she gave off pick-me vibes here and there—but Josh balanced their dynamic so well that it kept me engaged.

Started off slow but gripped me until the end.
It took me a while to get through this book. I’m not sure if that was because of the physical copy I had—the text felt small and dense—or because there was a lot of narration that didn’t feel entirely necessary. Honestly, I think this story could’ve worked just as well, maybe even better, at under 200 pages.
That said, once I pushed through, it turned into an enjoyable read overall. I actually picked it up after hearing about …Read More

I finished Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez this morning. It’s a little tricky for me to pin down a full review because I read it sporadically—I was also deep in a binge of The Summer I Turned Pretty at the same time.
One thing I absolutely loved—whether intentional or not—was the subtle nod to Grey’s Anatomy through the characters’ names. It made it so easy for me to put faces to them. Alexis instantly became Addison Montg …Read More

"Did someone call you that?"
"What?"
Grayson made air quotes. "Wildly annoying."
"Who hasn't called me that?" said Reece.
"I haven't."
Reece opened his mouth, then closed it.
"If someone's ever bothering you, you should tell me about it," Grayson said casually.
"Why? You're the Dead Man. What are you going to do about someone bullying an empath?"
"You just let me know if it happens," Grayson said, like that was any kind of answer.

"Sure," Reece said easily.
Grayson cut the engne and turned to face him. "Look me in the eyes and say, Evan,I'm not going to wander off.

"You want me to phrase it another way?" Grayson said, "How about I could be in danger, Agent Grayson, so I promise I'll stay with you. I'd even take I know you're trying

How was this so perfect despite it being like an 8 year old book?! Audiobook slaps! Wyatt Baker sounds just so ballsy! But I wouldn't have minded two narrators and at least dual style! Anyways this is sooo good, if you love e.g. Memento Mori series or Zero at the bone or any MM suspense or murder mystery. Although it's slow romance it gives you crumbs to latch on until the MCs get there where we want them. I absolutely recomm …Read More

Parts of this book reminded me of _Nightfall_ by Asimov, but people may not often agree with me. At the very end, I was reminded a little bit of _The Giver_. I enjoyed the book even though it turned out to be different than I expected.
