"No matter what happens next, I'll keep this moment forever. This small section of time in which only we exist, him and me, wrapped in each other, consumed by whatever this thing is between us."
I had the privilege of reading an ARC of No Justice for the Damned by Hellie Heat, and I can’t express how much I enjoyed it. This was my first book by Hellie Heat, and now every other title of hers on my TBR has jumped straight to the top. The story struck the perfect balance of mystery, darkness, and angst—elements that pushed all of my buttons in the best possible way.
"He's enchanting and I could so easily lose myself to his magic."
The romance between Killian and Hollow was well paced, a slow-burn that simmered with intensity and kept me hooked as their complex relationship unfolded. Killian’s inner turmoil as he wrestled with his loyalty, his dark past, and the haunting truths he uncovers made him an intriguing, layered character. The dynamic between him and Hollow was filled with emotional tension and a sense of urgency, pulling me deeper into their world.
"I could exist in his arms forever, taking nothing more than what he's willing to give, knowing it will always be enough."
New Mason City’s gritty, shadowy setting provided the perfect backdrop for a story steeped in dark themes. This book doesn’t shy away from heavy content, so it’s important to check the trigger warnings before diving in. That said, the balance between dark romance, thrilling action, and the ever-present suspense kept me glued to the pages.
"'Well what do you want then?' He asks and I realize I don't think anyone has ever asked me that before."
What stands out most about No Justice for the Damned is its ability to tackle complex themes, including moral ambiguity and the search for truth in a world built on deception. The twists and turns kept me guessing until the very end. It’s a haunting, gritty story that lingers long after the last page.
"I want to hurt him. To fuck him. To make him bleed. To make him scream, either in ecstasy or agony. Maybe both. I want to destroy him and I want for him to destroy me back."
If you're a fan of dark romance with a plot full of emotional depth, mystery, and suspense, this is a must-read. Hellie Heat’s writing is powerful, and her ability to weave a story that challenges the very notion of justice makes this a standout. I’m already looking forward to reading more of her work!
I received an ARC of this book. These are my honest opinions.
