I couldn’t put this book down. Although I’m usually not a huge fan of the single mom trope, I gobbled this one up.
The MC’s both have my heart as they communicate and act the age they are, which is a big plus for me. To be honest, you should just read it for them… Knox is a grumpy but kind man. He’s patient, honest, protective and caring. Add his cooking skills and tattoos in the mix and tell me he’s not a perfect bookboyfriend?
Memphis is trying hard to get back up after leaving her old life behind. She’s so strong, not giving up and choosing for what’s best for her every single day. As a girl who cries a lot and easily too, I felt so seen. Memphis made me realize I can be a cryer but still be strong too.
I expected the epilogue to end like it did. And although it’s a natural ending for their story, it left me a bit disappointed. That’s the only reason this read is not a 5 star read.

I can’t wait to read about Talia next!

Tropes:
single mom
found family
forced proximity
small town
grumpy x sunshine
