One Arranged Murder

Review by NEO

Jun 13(edited)
One Arranged Murder
Chetan Bhagat

One Arranged Murder is a fast-paced, drama-filled murder mystery that brings back Bhagat’s detective duo, Keshav and Saurabh, for a case that's personal and messy. Set in a Delhi joint family, the story kicks off quickly and keeps the tension alive with enough twists to hold your interest.

The plot isn’t the most original, and the sleuthing often stretches believability, but the final twist genuinely lands and gives the story a satisfying payoff. The writing is light and accessible—classic Bhagat—but the repeated fat-shaming and tasteless jokes stand out for all the wrong reasons and take away from what could’ve been a tighter, more thoughtful read.

Still, for all its flaws, this is an easy, one-sitting kind of book, best enjoyed for its entertainment value rather than literary merit. Not Bhagat's best, but a solid pick for fans of his style.
