Finlay is a wolf shifter who has spent centuries grieving and trying to get over his forbidden love for his alpha's mate. Chester is a human who has recently escaped an emotionally abusive relationship and is scared of being abused again. Once Finn gets to know Chester, he knows that he's found his other half, and he is more than ready to take it easy and go at Chester's pace until Chester feels safe enough to completely open his heart.
Finn is such a green flag and he's so damn sweet and romantic. There's enormous focus on consent in this book and, overall, this is such a gentle book. Half-way through reading this I found myself thinking: "This book is for when you're hurting and you just want someone to insta-love you and take care of you" and I say that in all the good ways. This is definitely a great comfort read.
Also, I'm so excited for the next book, Evan. Literally can't wait to read it.
