Butterfly in Amber

Review by Hayley

Apr 27, 2017
Butterfly in Amber
Camilla Monk

After the cliff hanger of the previous book we are quickly brought up to speed with what has happened to Island and I could not tear myself away for a second.
There are plenty of the humorous moments that we have come to expect from Ms Monk, as well as the appearance of a sloth called Hadrian & the return of the Roomba cats! Yay!
Other reviews have mentioned that this book is darker in tone than the earlier books and this is certainly true. However there are only so many death defying situations a character can experience before it begins to seem ridiculous that no one is seriously injured, so this actually made a lot of sense to me.
To sum up without spoilers I loved it, even when I hated it!!!
So please please please don't let this be the last book!!! I had no idea that it was until I looked at other people’s reviews. Although this does explain why so many things were wrapped up by the end, I still have unanswered questions and adore the characters Camilla Monk has created!
